To be told that, because I haven't been through a world war, I have not experienced trauma and that she is not going to "buy into my pity party" after all the things I have shared (things that are not easy to share), is simply dismissive. It hurts to have someone that you assume is a professional basically tell you that you are lying about the depth of emotions, that you are simply looking for sympathy (that she isn't going to give, by the way) after you have tried to reach out and get help.

My initial appointment lasted 30 minutes and comprised Ms. Higdon referring me to a naturopath and telling me to exercises five times a week to treat my depression. She was very dismissive and did not even ask anything about my history. I would not recommend her.
