Biography: Hello I am a mental health and substance use provider who has been in the field since 2009. I implement various psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding among patients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the patient and clinician alike. But in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results. I want to help you love the life you live and live the life you love! I offer substance abuse and mental health counseling. Individual, couples, and family therapy. I meet clients where they are at and work with you to achieve your goals. I am experienced in working with clients who are pre and post op for bariatric surgery, LGBTQIA+, and those who are experiencing stress/anxiety/depression due to life changes. I generally check messages here once per day Monday-Friday and respond as quickly as I can. Please see below for you schedule and response time information. My practice hours are as follows: Monday's/Tuesday's: possible availability between 6:30-8p (please discuss with therapist) Wednesday's: 6:30p-9:30p (video or Live Chat sessions only) Possible availability for LIVE CHAT ONLY sessions between 9a-5p. Thursday's: possible availability between 6:30-8p (please discuss with therapist) Friday's: Unavailable Saturday's: Unavailable Sunday's: possible availability (please check with therapist) I generally can respond via the chat at least once day (Monday thru Friday), sometimes more! I do try to check the chat throughout the day as my schedule permits. You can also book a live session with me ahead of time by going to my schedule and choosing an available slot that works for you. Your first appointment with me will be 30 minutes in length to meet, get needed information, and discuss therapy goals and to answer any questions you may have. Following the initial session if you choose to continue to work with me our sessions will be 30 minutes in length. I do appreciate your patience when it takes a bit longer at times to respond, as I may be in session with other clients or tending to professional/personal responsibilities. If you prefer chat counseling, please be advised that I am not available 24/7 and it may take longer at times to respond. I do try to check messages at least once a day during the hours of 9a-9p MST Monday thru Friday, any messages outside of those hours will be checked and responded to on the Next business day. Please remember that BetterHelp (or sister site!) is not appropriate if you are in crisis or in immediate need of support. In crisis situations, please call 911 or local emergency services. You can also call 1-800-273-TALK (8255) to talk to someone right away!

Biography: I believe our choices are deeply influenced by the information we have at any given moment. This "information" is derived from how we interpret our life experiences, forming a narrative that defines who we are. When this narrative becomes unhelpful or fails to bring us comfort, it can lead to a range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, trauma, or addiction. My aim is to offer clients a compassionate, non-judgmental environment where we can examine how past experiences may be hindering your ability to enjoy life fully. Together, we can identify effective coping strategies, explore new options, and set meaningful goals. As a licensed professional counselor and addictions counselor with national certification, I have extensive training in EMDR, DeTur, Addiction Counseling, CBT, DBT, Existential therapy, Somatic therapy, and Gestalt therapy. My years of lived experience complement my professional skills, enriching the support I provide. Having transitioned to counseling as a second career, I have a diverse background that has deepened my appreciation for individuals with complex histories. I am dedicated to respecting your individuality, religious beliefs, cultural background, and sexual orientation. Your journey is unique, and I'm here to help you navigate it with care and understanding.

Biography: I have worked for 20+ years in the field of counseling. My experience is mainly focused on substance abuse issues, related trauma, and the mental health problems that often co-exist. I am a holistic provider, which means that I see the person wholly, mind, body, spirit, and seek to help clients experience themselves wholly. Problems do not occur in a vacuum. Without this holistic perspective, it is easy to focus on one thing, but neglect the core issue driving that "one thing." My approach is one of "partnering" with the client. Not leading, not following, but walking with you as you rediscover your true self, and then seek to find internal balance which leads to a more productive and fulfilled lifestyle. I consider it a great privilege when someone trusts me enough to share at the level necessary to effect life changes, and I believe that confidentiality is the bedrock of therapy.

If you need to receive care at a hospital, you may qualify for financial assistance through that hospital. If you receive care at a non-profit hospital, you must be offered financial assistance if you cannot afford to pay. If you participate in a government program, such as Medicaid or Medicare, those programs' websites can offer guidance about coverage for the care you need.
Your hospital may also have a patient advocate on staff who can help guide you through your coverage or your financial assistance options. You can also find your own guide through the Patient Advocate Foundation.

It is important to remember that you are a partner with your Addiction and Substance Abuse Counselor as you find the right treatment plan for you. You have a voice in your healthcare decisions, and it is important to communicate your goals and preferences clearly to get the highest quality of care.
Ways to advocate for yourself during appointments include: preparing questions in advance to ask your doctor, bringing someone with you to listen and take notes, asking your Addiction and Substance Abuse Counselor to clarify when you do not understand something, and being honest when you have concerns.
If you are unsure about a recommended treatment, tell your doctor you want to seek a second opinion. A quality Addiction and Substance Abuse Counselor will not take offense at this; rather, a good doctor wants to get as much information as possible to make the right treatment choice. If your Addiction and Substance Abuse Counselor does question your interest in a second opinion, it may be a sign that another Addiction and Substance Abuse Counselor may be a better fit for you.
