Care Philosophy: Dr Hodul is a Senior Member and Surgical Oncologist within the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology and Medical Director of Nutrition at Moffitt Cancer Center. She is also a Professor in the Division of Oncologic Sciences through the University of South Florida. Previously she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine and completed her general surgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center. She then went on to complete both a clinical and research fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center in Surgical Oncology. Care Philosophy: Dr Sophie Dessureault is a surgical oncologist in the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. She is a professor of oncology and surgery at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. Dr Dessureault graduated with distinction from Dalhousie University School of Medicine in Halifax, Nova Scotia. After medical school, she pursued additional training at the University of Toronto where she completed both a surgical residency and a PhD in the Surgical Scientist Program. Dr Dessureault came to Moffitt Cancer Center in 1999 for a fellowship in Surgical Oncology.

Care Philosophy: Dr Marie Catherine Lee graduated magna cum laude from Kent State University and completed her MD degree at the Northeast Ohio University College of Medicine in Rootstown, Ohio. After a general surgery residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, she completed the Susan G Komen/University of Michigan Multidisciplinary Breast Fellowship in Ann Arbor. She is board-certified in General Surgery and joined the Moffitt Cancer Center's Comprehensive Breast Program as an Assistant Professor in 2008. She was promoted to Associate Professor in 2014. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of University Surgeons.

Care Philosophy: Dr Pimiento earned his MD degree at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. He completed a general surgery residency at Saint Mary's Health System/Affiliated Yale University School of Medicine and a Fellowship in Surgical Research in Vascular Surgery at Yale University School of Medicine. He then completed a Fellowship in Surgical Oncology and Advanced Fellowship in Surgical Oncology Research at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr Pimiento joined Moffitt from Mercy Health Partners/Mercy Health-St. Mary's and served as the Medical Director, Surgical Oncology at the Lacks Cancer Center. Dr Pimiento's clinical interest is in malignancies of the upper gastrointestinal tract, including esophageal, gastric, pancreatic, colorectal and liver cancers.

Care Philosophy: Dr Khakpour is a surgical oncologistinthe Department of Breast Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. She also serves as an instructor and mentor for medical students and resident physicians. As treatment for breast cancer becomes more complex and differentiated by tumor type, Dr Khakpour believes it is essential for physicians to be well trained in all aspects of this multifaceted disease. Dr Khakpour enjoys helping women understand the many treatment options that are available to them and making sure they are aware of the value of obtaining a second opinion.

Care Philosophy: Dr Seth Felder is a board-certified colon and rectal surgical oncologist Associate Member in the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. Following fellowship colon and rectal surgical training at the University of Minnesota, he then pursued additional training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Advanced Colorectal Surgical Oncology. He understands the fears patients face with his/her diagnosis, specifically regarding the functional and psychological impact that may result from surgery. He focuses on these important aspects of a patient's quality of life, and when possible, he uses nerve-sparing surgical techniques that can help to preserve anal, bladder, and sexual function.

Care Philosophy: Dr Amod Sarnaik is a surgical oncologist in the Department of Cutaneous Oncology,the Immunology Program and the Melanoma Center of Excellence at Moffitt Cancer Center. In addition, Dr Sarnaik holds an appointmentof associate professor of oncology and surgery at the University of South Florida. Dr Sarnaik's primary research interest involves investigation of novel immunotherapeutic treatments for melanoma. This includes tumor-based vaccines, immune-activating antibodies, targeted inhibition of oncogenic proteins and autologous T-cell therapy. His clinical interests focus on the surgical treatment of melanoma and other cutaneous-based skin cancers, sentinel lymph node biopsy techniques, and minimizing surgically-related morbidities.

Care Philosophy: Dr Ricardo Gonzalez is a surgical oncologist and Chair of the Sarcoma Department at Moffitt Cancer Center. He also serves as a member of the Cutaneous Program at Moffitt Cancer Center. He is an associate professor at the University Of South Florida College Of Medicine's Department of Oncologic Sciences and Department of Surgery. Dr Gonzalez' research and clinical interests include outcomes analyses and management of patients with soft tissue sarcomas, retroperitoneal sarcomas, desmoid tumors, gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) and head and neck melanoma.

Care Philosophy: Dr John Mullinax is an Associate Member in the Sarcoma Department and Immunology Department of Moffitt Cancer Center and Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. He is the Surgical Director of the Cellular Immunotherapy Program and the Associate Program Director for the Complex General Surgical Oncology fellowship at Moffitt. Care Philosophy: Dr Julian Sanchez is a colorectal surgeon in the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. He is Associate Professor of Surgery and Associate Professor of Oncologic Sciences at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. He is board certified in both general surgery and in colorectal surgery. Dr Sanchez's clinical interests include colon and rectal cancer, anal cancer, high resolution anoscopy, genetic cancer syndromes, and minimally invasive surgery. His research centers on HPV infection and associated anal cancer. He is especially interested in the progression of anal dysplasia in immunosuppression and in screening programs for high risk patients.

Care Philosophy: Dr Andrew Sinnamon is a Surgical Oncologist within the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. He completed both medical school and General Surgery residency training at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. During residency he completed a research fellowship studying outcomes for surgical oncology patients. He also obtained a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology during this time. Dr Sinnamon then completed further fellowship training in Complex General Surgical Oncology at Moffitt, and has since joined the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology. Dr Sinnamon's clinical interests include caring for patients with diseases of the pancreas, stomach, and esophagus.

Care Philosophy: Dr Jason W Denbo is an Assistant Member in the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology. Dr Denbo earned his MD degree at Indiana University School of Medicine and completed a General Surgery Residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and a Research Fellowship at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. Dr Denbo received fellowship training in both Complex General Surgical Oncology and Advanced Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Prior to his recruitment to Moffitt, Dr Denbo served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Minnesota.

Care Philosophy: Dr Daniel Anaya is a Senior Member, Chief of GI Surgery and Head of Hepatobiliary Section in the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology, at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr Anaya is a fellowship trained Surgical Oncologist with a particular focus on the surgical treatment of patients with liver malignancies (primary and metastatic) and neuroendocrine tumors. His academic interest focus on improving the quality of cancer care and implementing models to improve the delivery of care for patients with complex cancers. He is an expert in developing academic programs that facilitate delivery of the highest quality of care, while also provide a framework to support research and innovation in the field of cancer and surgery.

Care Philosophy: Dr Sean Dineen is an Assistant Member of the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr Dineen has a particular interest in the treatment of patients with metastatic disease, including carcinomatosis. In particular, he focuses on patients that have developed peritoneal spread of disease and the application of heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) in the treatment of this advanced process. Dr Dineen's research focuses on identifying how the tumor and the local environment interact to promote metastatic disease. Dr Dineen is a native of Lexington, KY. He earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville.

Care Philosophy: Dr Deepa Danan is as an Associate Member in the Department of Head and Neck-Endocrine Oncology. Dr Danan received her MD degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, her MBA from Columbia Business School, and MHA from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, New York City. She completed an Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of Virginia Health System, Charlottesville, Virginia, followed by a Head and Neck Oncologic and Microvascular Surgery fellowship at the University of Miami, Florida.

Biography: Ravi Patel, MD, FACS, FICS is triple-board certified in general surgery, wound care and hyperbaric medicine with 30 years of experience in vascular and general surgery. He earned his medical degree from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in India before embarking upon his internship and residency training in general surgery at Brooklyn Hospital in New York, where he completed his tenure as Chief Resident. He continued at Brooklyn Hospital for his advanced fellowship training in vascular surgery. He currently serves as Chief Medical Officer for the AdventHealth West Divisions Wound Healing Institute and is the Immediate Past Chief of Staff at AdventHealth Carrollwood.

Care Philosophy: Dr Sondak is Chair of the Department of Cutaneous Oncology at the H Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, Florida. He holds the Richard M Schulze Family Foundation Distinguished Endowed Chair in Cutaneous Oncology, and is also a Professor in the Departments of Oncologic Sciences and Surgery at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. Since 2004, when he came to Tampa, the Cutaneous Oncology Clinic at Moffitt has grown into one of the largest multidisciplinary treatment centers for pediatric melanoma and related conditions in the world.

Care Philosophy: For patients undergoing surgery, whenever possible, Dr Malafa uses minimally invasive approaches. He's experienced at performing robotic whipple, robotic distal pancreatectomy, robotic colectomy and robotic liver resections. In addition to Dr Malafa's time in the clinic and operating room, he continues to work in research and is a Senior Member in the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology and the Chemical Biology and Molecular Medicine Program at Moffitt. As a physician-scientist, he is enthusiastically investigating novel approaches to prevent pancreatic cancer and colorectal cancer.

Care Philosophy: Dr Voss received an MD from the Ohio State University College of Medicine and an MPH in Epidemiology from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston. She completed a General Surgery Residency at the University of California San Diego Medical Center, and most recently completed a Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr Voss's clinical interests include extremity sarcomas, complex retroperitoneal and abdominal sarcomas, GISTs, and adrenal tumors (both benign and malignant).
