Biography: Dr. Krellman is an Associate Professor of Neuropsychology and a provider on the Neuropsychology Service. He is board certified in both clinical neuropsychology (ABPP-CN) and rehabilitation psychology (ABPP-RP) by the American Board of Professional Psychology. He is one of only approximately 20 clinicians in the US and Canada certified in both specialties, which attests to his specialization in both the assessment and treatment of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral symptoms due to neurological injury or disease. He has extensive experience in the neuropsychological evaluation of individuals with mild cognitive impairment or dementia due to neurodegenerative diseases, brain tumors, and traumatic brain injury as well as expertise in concussion evaluation and symptom management. Dr. Krellman earned his doctorate in clinical neuropsychology from the City University of New York, where his dissertation work focused on neuroanatomical and behavioral phenotyping of inbred mouse strains to develop animal models of neurodevelopmental disorders. Biography: Dr. Philip L. De Jager is professor of neurology. After graduating from Yale University with a degree in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry, Dr. De Jager received a PhD in Neurogenetics from Rockefeller University and an MD from Cornell University Medical College, before completing his MMSc in Clinical Investigation at Harvard Medical School (HMS) and MIT. He served as a neurology resident in the Partners Neurology Residency Program at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital. He then joined the faculty at HMS, rising to the rank of associate professor before joining CUIMC. The goal of Dr. De Jager's work as a clinician-scientist is to apply modern methods of neuro-immunology, statistical genetics, and systems biology to the understanding of common neurodegenerative diseases. At CUIMC, Dr. De Jager serves as Chief of the Department of Neurology's Division of Neuroimmunology, which includes the Columbia University Multiple Sclerosis Center and focuses on characterizing and targeting the neuro-immunologic component of neurodegenerative disease. Dr. De Jager also serves as the director of a new Center for Translational & Computational Neuro-Immunology.

Biography: Dr. Merkler is a native New Yorker who received his undergraduate degree from Brown University where he graduated magna cum laude. Dr. Merkler earned his medical degree from New York University where he received the prestigious Rosenbluth Grant for international laboratory research. Dr. Merkler completed residency in neurology at the Weill Cornell Medical College and served as the Chief Resident in his final year. She completed her undergraduate studies in biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, followed by a dual-degree program at Washington University in St. Louis, where she attained both her medical degree and PhD in molecular cell biology. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Pennsylvania State University and her Master of Science with honors in Nursing at Wagner College. She is also certified in critical care and in neuroscience by the American Board of Neuroscience Nurses. NP Carver began her career in Neuro Critical Care at NYP providing specialized care for patients with a multitude of neurocritical conditions including acute status epilepticus and those requiring intracranial EEG monitoring. Biography: Elise A. Caccappolo is the Director of the Neuropsychology Service and holds the title of Professor of Neuropsychology. Dr. Caccappolo is a Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology, with specialty certification in Clinical Neuropsychology. Her clinical activities include the evaluation and diagnosis of cognitive and emotional functioning across the lifespan. She specializes in the evaluation of adults and geriatrics with memory disorders, mild cognitive impairment, dementia, movement disorders, concussion, and psychiatric and medical illness, among other disorders. She also evaluates children and adolescents with developmental delays, learning disabilities, and attentional disorders. Dr. Caccappolo completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Environmental and Occupational Health from UMDNJ, where she was involved in the study of the cognitive and psychological effects of Gulf War Syndrome as well as the effects of exposure to various toxins. She also completed a research fellowship in aging and dementia within the Cognitive Neuroscience division of Columbia University Medical Center during which time she studied the acquisition of language disorders. She was appointed to the faculty of the Department of Neurology of Columbia University in 2003. Dr. Caccappolo is an active clinical researcher who has authored numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed articles on the neuropsychological profiles associated with a variety of neurological disorders including early onset Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease. Her current research interests include neuropsychological dysfunction following carotid endarterectomy and the cognitive profiles associated with donor iron deficiency. Biography: Jessica Oppenheimer is a pediatric nurse practitioner in the Division of Child Neurology. Currently, in collaboration with attending physicians, she manages pediatric patients with headache disorders and concussions in the outpatient setting, as well as neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, learning disabilities, and attention-deficit-hyperactivity disorder. She graduated from New York University where she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Nursing, followed by a Master's degree in Pediatric Nursing. She started her nursing career as a registered nurse on the Pediatric Cardiology-Neurology Unit at the NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital where she worked from 2007 to 2011, before moving on to work as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Blythedale Children's Hospital on the Pediatric/Adolescent and Traumatic Brain Injury Units. Biography: Baxter Ballantine Allen, MD, a neurologist and neurocritical care specialist, is an attending neurologist and neurointensivist at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and New York-Presbyterian Queens, and an assistant professor of clinical neurology at Weill Cornell Medicine.
