Biography: Dr. Stewart is Professor and Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Weill Medical College of Cornell University, and Otolaryngologist-in-Chief at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. He also serves as Senior Associate Dean of International Affairs and Affiliates for the Medical College and is currently also the Interim Darracott Vaughan MD Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs. He received a B.E. degree summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University, and his M.D. from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed residency training in General Surgery and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, and received his M.P.H. degree from the University of Texas School of Public Health. At Baylor College of Medicine after residency training, he served as Associate Professor and Director of Residency Education in the Department, Chief of Service at Ben Taub General Hospital, and Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs for the College, before coming to Weill Cornell.Dr. Stewart's clinical practice is comprehensive otolaryngology, and he has particular interest in nose and sinus disease, sleep breathing disorders, and head and neck trauma. He is the author of 2 textbooks, as well as more than 30 book chapters and 130 peer-reviewed publications.Dr. Stewart is the Emeritus Editor-in-Chief of The Laryngoscope journal, and has previously served as Associate Editor or on the Editorial Board of many other journals, including the International Forum of Allergy and Rhinology, American Journal of Rhinology and Allergy, Archives of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and ENT Today. He currently serves as the Executive Vice President of the American Rhinologic Society. He is also a Past-President of the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery, and a past chair of the Education Council of the Board.He is a Past-President of both the Association of Academic Departments of Oto-HNS, and the Society of University Otolaryngologist-Head and Neck Surgeons. From 2011-15 he was an elected member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and he also served on the Board of Directors of the American Rhinologic Society. He was appointed to the EENT Quality Measures Task Force of the National Quality Forum from 2015-18, and he served on the ACGME Otolaryngology Residency Review Committee from 2016-22. Dr. Stewart's research interests are in outcomes and quality of life research, and he has received research funding from the NIH, AHRQ, the AAOHNS Foundation, other foundations, and industry.Dr. Stewart has received many awards and honors, including the Fulbright and Jaworski Faculty Excellence Award while at Baylor College of Medicine, and he was inducted into the Academy of Distinguished Educators there. In addition, he has received a Presidential Citation from the AAO-HNS, and he is a two-time recipient of the Academy's Distinguished Service Award. He received the Houston Distinguished Surgeon Award from AORN in 2005. Biography: Dr. Joseph Montano is Professor of Audiology at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center. He received his MA degree from New York University, his Ed.D. in Audiology from Teacher's College Columbia University, and is certified in Audiology (CCC-A) through the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). He serves on the New York State Licensure Board and is a member of the ASHA Legislative Council.Prior to coming to Weill Cornell, Dr. Montano was an Associate Professor at Long Island University/C.W. Post, and for 17 years was Director of the Department of Communication Disorders at Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital. Biography: Michael J. Pitman MD is Chief of the Division of Laryngology at the Columbia University Medical Center and the Director of The Center For Voice And Swallowing. Dr. Pitman is an internationally recognized expert in voice restoration, conservation and care of the professional voice as well as in the care of swallowing and airway disorders. Dr. Pitman is also a NIH funded clinician scientist who has performed and published extensive research. Dr. Pitman has received numerous grants and patents for pioneering research in the field of Laryngology.
