Dr. Daniel Synkowski, MD

It was easy to get an appointment, even as a first time patient. I was shopping around because I had two spots already removed (cut) from my face and I was hoping to find someone who would treat without scarring. I didn't say a word about it yet, but the Dr Synkowski immediately understood that my history was creating some anxiety about any spots on my face and HE recommended treatments that were effective without long term discoloration or scarring. I was relieved and pleased when I left his office.

I went to Dr. Synkowski, a few years back, to see about having a very large dermal cyst removed from my face. He quickly assessed the issue, and gave me a choice of treatment options. I chose the surgery to remove it. He was very straightforward, and no-nonsense, and , when the scheduled time came, did a great job! The scar is so microscopic,I can't even tell where it was! Some people may consider him a bit brusque, as he doesn't have a lot of time for chit-chat, and hand-holding, but that's what I prefer - no mollycoddling. I would definitely recommend him to others, and have. Very skilled provider.

I was unable to see my usual dermatologist at UCSD for an immediate issue due to booking, so I saw this doctor. My appointment with Dr. Synkowski was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a health care provider. He didn’t know my medical history, any current conditions, or even what medications I am on. He also seemed dismissive to any symptoms I was experiencing and I didn’t feel like he heard what I was saying. I won’t be seeing this physician again & he seems like he is burnt out.

I've been to several dermatologists over the years. This doctor is the worst.

This doctor worked patiently and persistently to solve a difficult skin condition. I have complete confidence in his expertise. His bedside manner was appropriate with me and my husband. If the others who reviewed this doctor were looking for an entertainer they should have found a comedy club and not a doctor's office

Terrible..my head to toe skin exam he never looked at my skin. Said I see you have had a lot of skin exposure but never actually looked at my skin. He stood 2 feet away, said nothing looks like cancer he never examined my skin !!

I would never recommend this doctor to anyone; here's why: - No bedside manner whatsoever - Didn't ask if I was okay with a resident being in the room, and a MALE resident at that - Wasn't concerned with my overall skin health and tried to prescribe Epiduo for my acne when I don't even wear foundation/powder - Only scanned about 50% of my skin and I had to request that he check my moles thoroughly as he was about to leave the room without checking them at all
