Highly recommended Doctor
Top notch doctor! I had severe spondylolisthesis at L4-L5. I have tried physical therapy, chiropractic, exercises & consulted with 2 neurosurgeons. My husband, a physician, did some research & chose Dr. David Barnett for his own neck surgery. I was reluctant at first about surgery, afraid to lose my independence during healing & scared of unpredictable outcomes. A friend & a neighbor who had back surgeries by Dr. Barnett were very happy with their results. They assured me that I have the best neurosurgeon in the country! Dr. Barnett is a very kind, conscientious & personable doctor who explained to me in details about my situation. He does not push patients into surgery unless absolutely necessary. Following my husband's successful neck surgery, I scheduled my back surgery. I like his simple one-incision technique for my back. For my situation, the result was immediate. No more hip, leg pain after wound healed from surgery! Thank you, Dr. Barnett & your surgery, office team!

Very Highly Recommend!
Dr. Barnett provides high-quality, professional, and compassionate care. He takes the time necessary to explain your condition and treatment options thoroughly. A year and a half ago, I required lumbar surgery and, more recently, cervical spine surgery. Both experiences had very positive outcomes, and the recoveries I experienced were just as Dr. Barnett prepared me for.My son recently became an MD, and I hope that he practices medicine with the same genuine and caring approach as Dr. Barnett. No one wants to undergo surgery, but if you must, I highly recommend Dr. Barnett.

Dr. Barnett
Dr. Barnett has a very good personality. Very easy to talk to. Explained in detail what the surgery entailed. His record speaks for itself. The office staff and assistances very competent and friendly.I have had two spine surgerys from Dr. Barnett. Both came out very well. I can't say enough good things about this fine man. He knows his stuff!!

A marvelously successful complex surgery
I'm so thankful for Dr. Barnett and his extraordinary skill set! I had several herniated discs and fragments that had broken off and were crimping my spinal canal, as shown on my MRI. The results were loss of much of the use of my left leg and inability to raise my left foot, and lots of pain as well. He was able to remove the debris and remedy the bad disks. Within two weeks after surgery, I had no pain at all, complete control over my left leg and foot, and was walking over 2 miles a day. I could not be more pleased with his surgical talent, his attentive demeanor, and the kindness of his staff!

The absolutel best!
April 2024 - I had to have another surgery for the stenosis in my neck due to the deteriorating issues that continued in that area. Once again, Dr. Barnett was the absolute best. He explained everything in complete detail and in language I could totally understand. This surgery was done through the back of the neck, unlike the first that was done through the throat. Recovery time was definitely longer and more intense, but he had given me everything I needed to know in advance in order to deal with the intense recovery time. Dr. Barnett and his staff could not be more professional and caring. I couldn't be more confident and recommend Dr. Barnett more if you are in need of his services. TOP NOTCH in everything.

Excellent Experience
Dr. Barnett is extremely easy to communicate with, while providing the necessary information for me to select an approach to my lumbar problems. He and his staff clearly described the options available and importantly offered conservative solutions. The surgery was immediately successful for the extreme debilitating pain I had encountered over several months. Recovery from the surgery was as rapid as I could possibly have hoped for - with no brace, no pain, and resumed normal exercise at the end of two months.

Perplexed by advice
After walking 3-4 miles a day and being an active 55 yo three years ago to now barely being able to walk a quarter mile or stand longer than 10 minutes because of back pain (multiple lumbar and cervical ruptured discs), Dr. Barnett told me I should be grateful for each day because people in George Washington's day died in their 30s. He then told me he had nothing further to offer me and summarily ended the very short appointment (five minutes maybe). Clearly, others have had terrific experiences with him but I sure did not.

Thanks Dr. Barnett saved me from having 4-disc spinal fusion operation suggested by another surgeon. After through discussions with Dr. Barnett, I ended having the conservative 1 disc fusion. Now 3+ months after the surgery, I am on my way of full recovery. Thank you, Dr. Barnett, and his staff!

Great surgery outcome!
Amazing surgeon. I consulted with several great back surgeons and am so glad I went with Dr. Barnett. My fusion went incredibly well, and I've had much less recovery time than many lower back fusion patients that I know. Highly recommend!

Microdiscectomy
Dr. Barnett is one of the most professional doctor I've ever met. I had 2 herniated disc's in the L4 - L5 region that were pretty severe. I've been dealing with this issue for about a year now. I tried everything prior to meeting Dr. Barnett. He told me that I would be taken care of and that I would be back to normal in no time. With 2 microdiscectomies done and now 7 weeks after my procedure I'm feeling better than ever. I'm so grateful for Dr. Barnett and his team. I could not recommend him more to anyone having back issues similar to myself.
