Dr. Kuperman cared for my mom in the early '00s when she was an RN at SMH. He was wonderful. When I called in Fall to make an appt after we moved back to SRQ, I was told there was a 2 mos. wait. Mom had symptoms, so I went w/1st doc I could make appt with. He was awful & Mom never returned. Today, Mom called to make an appt w/Dr. Kuperman, & Renee wasn't pleasant. Renee said she had to put in a transfer of care request, which could take over a week. Mom asked if Renee would speak to me & Renee said, w/elitist tone, "I don't have time for that." I took the phone & asked her if I could write a letter or call someone to appeal so that Mom can get care quicker. Renee seemed very annoyed by our desire to get Mom care & relief. She was like a robot repeating her need to follow protocol. It's possible to work a job like Renee's & think outside the box, be empathetic, & caring. It breaks my heart that my mom, who treated her patients like gold for decades, gets treated like she doesn't matter.

You never get a live person and might never get a response to your message. I had been a patient of Dr. Kuperman for years but when I needed him was told I couldn't get into see him for two months. I said I would see his nurse which was still a two week wait. When I finally saw her nothing was done except a CT ordered which was another two weeks wait. Meanwhile I ruptured and had sepsis and nearly died. Now nine months later I am a total mess with a colostomy, adhesions, and blockages. Ruined.

Based on Dr. Kupperman's experience and reviews, I really wanted to schedule an appointment as a new patient. I left a message with the scheduler last Thursday and Friday. It is now Tuesday at 4:45, and I have not heard back, so I scheduled with another physician. I'm very disappointed.

Adjusts his depth and style of discussion to the audience appropriately. He's perfectly willing (and provides ample time) to either give you the summary or get into detail. Very much appreciate it and him.
