Dr Rubino was straight to the point but still had a bedside manner and was willing to answer all my questions before I have surgery. Will recommend him!!

Arrogant, condescending, uncompassionate
Initial appointment was made for a Mon pm. Got call the day before had to reschedule as doctor had surgery. Seemed off as usually surgeries are scheduled 1-2 weeks ahead and are in the morning, but figured it was a semi-emergency. Rescheduled to the next Mon pm. Again, got a call day before that had to reschedule as the doctor had surgery. Asked how soon and was told any Mon or Wed. I asked if that Wednesday was available. She said yes, so asked what time was told whenever they don't have many new patients right now. I go in expecting to see the doctor but it was his male nurse practitioner. No biggie, but he committed what I call a major sin. He compared his pain and experience to my pain and experience. No one experiences pain the same and he has no clue what I've been through or what I'm going through. Finally the doctor comes in. In short, I found them both to be rather arrogant, condescending and uncompassionate, talking to me like I was an ignorant child. Very disrespectful.

Bad Doctor
I broke my back on June 20th 2022 and that night Lake Charles Memorial hospital faxed a referral to Dr Gregory Rubino. After not hearing from them for 3 weeks I contacted the office and left a message of course no one returned my call so I went to the urgent Care that week with extreme back pain and another referral was sent to Dr Rubino again I didn't hear from them and they did not return my calls when I called to see what was going on left several messages was told someone would call me back... Another week goes by I went to St Pat's ER due to extreme pain and no treatment for broken back they sent another referral to Dr Gregory Rubino again I left messages spoke to someone they said they would check with the lady that does the referrals and call me right back but of course they did not so... Now there's been four referrals no return call from Dr Rubino was told yesterday that Dr Rubino does not treat my type of spinal fractures, I have to start all over it's been 7 weeks....

After giving a surgical recommendation, he refused to hold up to his end of agreement claiming the current litigation as a reason. The litigation was an automobile accident which resulted in injury. The litigation was closed and he then abandon me as a patient as well as his oath to do no harm! I was left without medical assistance, or the surgery he himself recommended as necessary.

I am severely disappointed in this Doctor, denied my referral without ever seeing me or getting any insight of what issues were occurring. Recommended me to pain management, awful thought process if you ask me. Take medicine to discuses the symptoms shouldn't be the answer, especially for someone who is 27 years old. I have been seeing a PT and Chiropractor for the better half of six months and was unable to make any progress and for him to turn a blind eye is unacceptable.

I was diagnosed with an oligodendroglioma and sent to UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Rubino was very kind, straight forward, and had a welcome sense of humor that immediately comforted me. I felt I was in the presence of a very confident surgeon.
