Dr. Haritha Bellam, MD

I was referred to Dr Bellam after a hospital stay to investigate whether flare ups (which were getting progressively worse) were due to Gout or PsA. The original Rhuematologist the Doctor recommended had a 6 month wait list, but Dr Bellam's wait list was only 1-2 months so I was referred to her. She was friendly, kind, and caring. I did all the necessary bloodwork, exams, X-rays, etc, and in the end she diagnosed me with gout. I was prescribed the Gout meds, but continued to have flareups. She told me the next time I was having a flareup to come to the office, but upon doing so, she recommended continuing the same treatment. It seemed like wasted time and money on a visit. After 1 ½ years of no improvements, a friend of mine was able to get me an appointment with the other Rheumatologist within a day of us speaking. I went to see him, and after a super thorough exam, he said it was Psoriatic Arthritis, not Gout. He prescribed Humira, and I have since been flareup free.

The services that I receive from Dr. Bellam is excellent! Dr. Bellam is knowledgeable and informative...I immediately felt at ease. Dr. Bellam and the staff are friendly and ensure that I am properly informed about my health and care. I highly recommend becoming her patient.

I felt very much that I was imposing on Dr. Bellam's time and that any arthritic conditions I had were largely functional (in my mind only) and that what I had was not something she could help me with. She made me feel that it was my fault as to why I had so little flexibility and range of motion. She was one of the least compassionate of doctors that I have ever seen in my lifetime. Believe me, I have better things to do with my time than go to someone for help, only to be largely dismissed. She isn't the least bit friendly. It fact, she is very standoffish. Why do people like her go into professions dealing with people, especially people who are in pain and hurting and who are wanting help to continue to function in everyday life.

A wonderful physician in my opinion. I have been seeing her for almost two years. She will NOT rush into a diagnosis, she takes her time and looks at all of the results from blood work. I LIKE HER. She is one of several physicians in Midland who work hard for your complete recovery. I just can not say enough good things about her.

I personally wouldn’t recommended anyone to go to her. She doesn’t make you feel comfortable. She is very cold. To get a hold of them is close to impossible. In the process of finding another doctor.

Too long a wait for the first visit (almost six months). Not very compassionate. Does not seem willing to get to root of problems which landed me being referred to her. Would not recommend.

I have been waiting for 8 months to see Dr. Bellam. On our way to her office we realized we had forgotten our paperwork so we turned around to get it. In the process we called her office to inform them we would be about 10 minutes late. We were told by the girl who answered the phone not to bother as we lived too far away to make it in there within the 15 minutes allotted for being late. Her rudeness and assumptions is why we cancelled and are looking for another doctor.

I have been waiting 30 minutes for my appointment and am still in the outer waiting room. The staff is unwelcoming and only showed any interest in me when they requested payment in advance. This is not the practice for people who wish to receive respect and compassion.
