Dr. Henry Garza III, MD

Two years ago, I was a patient at St. Lukes Acacia OBGYN office. I was 14 weeks pregnant & my water broke. I went to St. Lukes ER thinking it would be the best care. But when I arrived I was told there was no room in the ER and I'll have to wait. I called the after hours line and they gave me the number of the OBGYN doctor on call, Dr. Garza. I called him and explained my situation - I was bleeding in the waiting room and didn't know what to do. He told me I was in the best place and to wait. 30 minutes later I went to labor and a nurse found a bed for me in the hallway. I called Dr. Garza AGAIN but he told me again that I was in the best place. An hour later, I gave birth to my son in the sonogram room with a technician and husband. FINALLY, the ER doctor saw me but said he couldn't help me and that the OBGYN unit was the best place for me. When I saw Dr. Garza, I had to ask for him to please cut the umbilical cord. He was unapologetic and frankly very cold. He needs to retire.

I saw Dr Garza for a couple years and never had any issues until after he performed my diagnostic laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis. I didn't feel that I was old enough to have a hysterectomy as he suggested and needed more time to really think about this procedure. I was unable to schedule the surgery due to conflict with schedules and my insurance cancelling. Once I was able to get it, I went with a specialist of endometriosis. When I went back to Dr Garza to make sure I was doing well, he was visibly upset that I hadn't gone with him for my hysterectomy and proceeded to question me and stuck the speculum for examination, without warning and was very aggressive with it. I felt very violated and hurt (physically and emotionally) That was the last time I'd ever see him again. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

I honestly don't know how he is rated so highly. His bedside manner is awful, there seems to be no communication between him and his staff, and he is very dismissive of patient concerns. I wasn't given anything more than a urine test when I went in for severe pelvic pain, and was pushed through the visit as quickly as possible.

Dr. Garza is very nice and explains everything to you so you can understand the problems easily.

Dr. Garza is awesome! He immediately made me feel at ease, and listened to every concern. The staff is friendly and I've never had to wait for my appointment. I Definelty would recommend him.
