Dr. Jeffrey Lange, MD

I had 2 total knee replacements 90 days apart. Dr. Lange was absolutely wonderful. I could not be happier with the outcome. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Lange takes the time not only to discuss treatment planning but also demonstrated interest in the impact of all this on my career and family for each of my three surgeries . He is a very thoughtful person and an excellent surgeon. Several colleagues and friends have “moved” their care to Dr. Lange hearing he has that rare combination of surgical and interpersonal skills!

Right from the moment I met Dr. Lange, I was very impressed with his genuine concern for my pain and his confidence in being able to help me. He was suggested to me by my sister-in-law who had been a patient of his and was quite quite happy with the outcome. My hip replacement came just 12 weeks after having had 4 laminectomies of the lumbar spine, so I was recovering from both procedures concurrently. The surgery was very successful, and the entire team provided excellent care. I am so happy to have had such a positive experience with Dr. Lange, his team, and the nurses at Brigham and Women's. They are the best, and I would definitely recommend Dr. Lange to anyone with a similar problem.

Dr Lange was very thorough in explaining my medical situation. He was also very open to listening to my questions and explained in detail the procedure I was going to undergo.

Dr Lange listened very carefully to me and gave me a very clear plan for our procedure. I felt extremely comfortable and reassured by Dr. Lange and that carried through the entire process. DR. Lange's PA -- Kat Hazelton -- was also tremendous as a resource and support. A great team!

I was referred to Dr. Jeffrey Lange at the age of 34 by Maine doctors back in November of 2020. I traveled the 3-4 hours to see him and ultimately decided that he would be replacing my left hip. Everything seemed fine after the surgery until April 2021 when the new hip dislocated. Dr. Lange said that it happens sometimes and prescribed physical therapy, which I went to. I then dislocated a second time in August 2021. This dislocation cost me a pregnancy! Dr. Lange said he usually makes patients wait for the '3 Strike Rule' where a patient must dislocate 3 times before something surgical is done about it. He then said, 'We could go back in, but I don't know what you expect to get from that because we did the best we could the first time.' (That's as close to verbatim as I can recall.) He then referred me to a doctor closer to home who proceeded to guilt-trip me for wanting something done about my hip quickly. The professionalism and skill of Dr. Lange are outstanding. I have had his care for several complex surgeries and the outcomes were better than I could have expected. I appreciated the thorough aftercare. It was clear that his residents and the nurses respect him, which leads to smooth and effective teamwork. His manner is responsive and honest about details, and very reassuring.

I was fortunate enought to be referred to Dr. Lange for knee replacement consulation. Dr. Lange gave me a very thorough explanation of my situation, talking through the imagery, and went out of his way to accommodate my needs. I certainly felt that my case was given particular attention and I am extremely happy with the outcome of the visit. I wouold defintely recommend Dr. Lange and his staff to any friends and family.

Dr Lange was extremely caring. Listened attentively to all my ?’s and concerns. He explained everything I needed to know about my surgery. I had an excellent outcome from my THA. He is a very skilled and caring orthopedic surgeon.

My experience with Dr Lange was an outstanding one from the very beginning through to recovery. The initial visit he demonstrated a sincere desire to improve my quality of life. With a full knee replacement , he and his staff provided the best preparation, surgery and post operative support one could ask. The use of Force Therapeutics prior to surgery was a big plus in post operative recovery. Kathryn Hazelwood was also very supportive and an excellent PA.It's been roughly 3 months since surgery and I feel almost fully recovered. My quality of life has already improved and almost back to normal.

Dr. Lange and his team were attentive and took time to answer all my questions. I never felt rushed. They were very responsive to my inquires during follow up care. My outcome has been excellent.

Office is very accommodating, from being able to valet park in the garage, to x-rays and office right there on the same floor. Dr Lange takes his time. explains x-rays, options, etc. Had Knee replacement in June 2023, 3 months out, feeling good, getting ready to plan other knee replacement. First few weeks after surgery are very painful, I knew what to expect from Dr. Lange and Katherine Hazelwood his PA. They had me prepared.

Surgery was planned for months in advance. Approximately a month before surgery two major misfortunes happened in my life. Both Dr. Lange and his staff would answer all my questions and concerns as I did not want to postpone the surgery. Even after surgery his staff assisted me in check-ups and getting my appointment for orthotics . They are a superb team!

I started seeing Dr. Lange about 4/5 yrs ago for hip pain. We tried non surgiacal options as I have 2 young/active kids. Dr. Lange provided me with many options and left the decision up to me as the patient to proceed as it fit into my lifestyle. Always giving me the pros/cons/outcomes to make the right decision. With that said Covid put a wrench into the process and as time went on it was clear surgery was the best option. Again he explained everything throughly answered my questions. Dr. Lange has a calming and confortable demenor never rushed or disreguarded my concerns/questions. My first surgery date had to be postponed and he called to appologize (whicih it was not his fault) but he knew I desperately needed the surgery as I was living with chronic and debilitating pain, and he got me back on the schedule asap! The day after surgery he called to check in and make sure I was doing ok! Recovered and ready to have my 2nd hip done!

Dr. Lange is a great surgeon as well as a very good communicator. Everything went as planned and the follow-up was excellent. Kathryn Hazelwood (PA-C) was also an excellent source for questions and general information.

As a physician myself,I am acutely awRe of both technical expertise and the total care of the patient. He is world class in both. He communicates very well and incredibly pleased he was my orthopedic surgeon. Highly recommend him.

Dr. Lange operated successfully on my left hip which was badly damaged when a revolving door malfunctioned. This surgery was very successful. He is compassionate as well as being an expert surgeon. I am grateful for his care.

Dr Lange and service team have been very supportive throughout the surgery and recovery. They have provided me with the App that makes doing your daily exercise simple. I was able to ask questions and get support when needed. The addressed my concern on opioid use to avoid addiction. My new knee is mostly pain free.

Dr. Lange explained the procedure (hip replacement) very clearly and elicited my goals and preferences. The replacement was successful!
