Unacceptable wait time, every visit
Third visit. Each time is 2.5 to 3 hours of waiting for less than ten minutes of tests and treatment. Terrible way to treat patients.

Saved my vision!
After visiting my optometrist, she suspected a detaching retina and called Dr Saurino immediately. He agreed to meet me that very day and confirmed the diagnosis. I had already lost partial vision in one eye. He quickly scheduled surgery for the next day at St John’s and surgically repaired my retina, restoring my eyesight. He is a wonderful Christian man who is an excellent doctor. I will forever be grateful to him.

Grateful for my eyesight
The wait is frustrating. Yet the care that he has given me to help save my eyes, is outstanding. He does rush things at times but, he has always taken a moment to answer any questions I've had. The staff is great as well.

I have been going to Dr Saurino for almost 4 years and he has literally saved my vision from the effects of diabetes. He has given me laser, shots in the eyes, implants etc. I no longer even wear glasses except to read very small print. He is the best!

You will wait for hours and hours to see him, then watch as he bolts in and spends as little time as possible with his patients (three minutes for a new patient). He does not respect or listen to his patients. He cuts them off before they can have one second to answer his questions, talking to his assistant and just going through the motions, but not providing patient care. His eye exams are a joke. He hops from room to room, never washing his hands, yet putting them all over and in your eyes. He promotes his own books like crazy. He is all around unprofessional and does not explain anything, just pushes people through line cattle so he can bill for his supposed “services.” I hope to save others from such a horrible experience with this man, so am taking the time to write this.

Dr John Saurino saved my right eye from my detached retina back in 2011 and thanks to him I can see! He saved my vision, with his skill and his expertise. I would never let anyone else operate on my eye but Dr John Saurino.

I needed to see a Retina Specialist and Dr. Saurino was recommended. I called on a Friday afternoon and was given an appointment for the following Tuesday Morning. Dr. Saurino is not one to mess around. He has his techs do all the testing and preps a report for him to review while he comes into the exam room. He talks quick and direct. We covered all the bases and I was given my results, of which I am happy to say, were correct and to the point. I arrived at 9am and was seen by 10:45am... I have a mechanic that can't keep that time!!! I will gladly recommend Dr. Saurino to any of my friends or people I meet out and about.

I've been seeing Dr. Saurino for about twenty years and am very pleased with his expertise and dedication. He does talk fast, but fast and efficient are fine with me. He has talked about operating on Christmas Day unwilling to pass his patients off to whichever ER doctor is available. I rarely have to wait longer than 30 minutes to see him.

I took my 85 year old mother to Dr. Saurino. Wait time almost 3 hours. We saw a nurse who did tests for maybe 10 minutes. We saw the doctor and his nurse for maybe 10 minutes and all the while they are talking super fast and you just feel like they are moving cattle and trying to get in as many patients as they can. I have taken another family member to Dr. Balyeat, another retina specialist. He is wonderful and kind and gives you his time. His office staff is great. I would never recommend Dr. Saurino to anyone! So disappointing.

Dr. Saurino gets 4 stars ?? as a Physician, but only 1 star ?? on office management. Wait times often exceed 2 hours from appointment and arrival. They have no consideration for patients time. No cell reception in waiting room, and no guest wifi. Again, lack of patient consideration.

Dr. Sourino was recommended to me by Dr. Grisham (my eye doctor in Bartlesville) because I had a problem Dr. Grisham couldn't address four years ago. Because of this doctor I am able to retain my sight. Dr. Sourino is topnotch in his field in addition to being a nice, interesting man. His staff is smart, efficient, clean and accommodating.

Satisfied Patient in Tulsa, OK – Jul 11, 2018
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Saurino?
Dr runs from room to room and does not have time to talk or explain what's going on. Misdiagnoses in our case and he is too proud to admit he doesnt know what the problem is and to use common knowledge to refer the patient out to someone else to get additional help. He'd rather the patient go blind and continue to tear down the body with meds until the entire body tries to shut down and the patient nearly dies. but what the hey he believes he's the best. Now pay up

I have been remiss in not responding sooner but here goes... I experienced a retinal detachment in August of 2014 and was referred to Dr Saurino by my regular eye doctor. It was late Friday afternoon when I arrived at Dr Saurino's office and his staff worked me in fairly quickly. My condition was fairly serious so Dr. Saurino got me into St John's for surgery very quickly. He is a very skilled surgeon and over an 8 month period got my eye corrected more that I could imagine. Great Doctor!

Office staff not friendly or helpful. Med tech mean, rude and not gentle. Dr does not explain anything, just gets up and leaves the room with no explanation on how you eyes are doing. Wait time is around 3-4 hours. Appointments, takes 6 months to get in. Not happy with anyone here, could not recommend this place, seems like they just hurt you and ignore you.
