Dr. Joseph Montgomery, MD

Dr. Montgomery is very thorough and attentive. He's personable and knowledgeable. I've been a patient of his for over a year now. The wait times are average when compared to all doctor offices. He does see preop patients in his actual office within the practice office, which might account for any "additional" wait someone in his waiting room might experience. But, again - He is very thorough and devotes his time to his patients once he's with them. His staff members are efficient and friendly.

Dr. Montgomery delivered my 3rd and 4th children in the early 1990's and he's been my ob/gen ever since. There are reasons that I continue going to him after 30+ years - he listens and he knows his stuff. My own two adult daughters are patients of his as well.

Looking at all Dr Montgomery’s reviews, I’m sharing mine. I started going to him in 2000 for my first pregnancy and my second in 2003. He’s performed a laparoscopic hysterectomy for me in 2016. This is what I’ll tell you. He’s more than experienced. He’s old school which I have the upmost respect for and does not do things in his office as you would see today with technology with patient portals and iPads. He writes everything down in my chart/file and reads his own notes. He tends to have long waits because he occasionally gets called out unexpectedly to perform deliveries, which I’ve experienced with one of my appointments. He spends amiable time with his patients and discusses any issues or concerns in detail. He doesn’t heard you in and out of his office. I’ve recommended friends to him and they have been pleased with him as well and have thanked me for doing so. When he decides to retire, I hope I can find a doctor as great as him to replace.

Horrible, if I could give zero stars I would. His patient went into preterm labor twice with each of her last 2 babies while under dr Montgomery’s care. Not once did he perform full exams when necessary, or listen to any concerns expresssed to him, nor did he answer questions in full detail. Even went as far as to threaten his patient. Time to retire

I found Dr. Montgomery to be A thorough clinician. Did a more conservative procedure that kept me without pain and I was able to return to life quicker. Would definitely recommend and wish I knew him when I had my children.

I have been seeing Dr. Montgomery for many year and find very positive and thorough.

Dr. Montgomery III saw my wife and told her that 'in general' "people" (he says he was generalizing and not referring specifically to her) don't need to take psychiatric medications. He told her that "people" could be on a desert island and be just fine. Dr. Montgomery is not a psychiatrist and acknowledged that he was not familiar with any of the psychiatric medications my wife was taking. Shamed, my wife came home in tears. I called the doctor to discuss this incident and he continued to express his sentiment that "some people" are better off without "certain medications". Dr. Montgomery told my wife to research the side-effects of the medications she takes herself to as to a symptom she was having. He was also not aware of a newer medication that is being advertised on tv for this symptom and claimed there were no such medications on the market. Go elsewhere, this doctor is not staying current and has poor communication skills.

Wait times for the doctor vary from 30 minutes to over an hour without fail. Chairs in every room are worn out and sag. The entire office is very dark and dated. The front staff is very unfriendly and rude. They close the office for lunch two hours every day and you can’t even leave a message! I had a hysterectomy that required two follow-up surgeries and each surgery Dr. Montgomery was one to over two hours late showing up for. Even when releasing me from the hospital he showed up over an hour late and for each and every time he waltzed in he never once apologized or felt bad for it or explained why. I never felt confident in his skills (he’s over 72 years old now) and truly regret ever going there.

I love Dr. Montgomery and his staff. He delivered my daughter in 2015 and just delivered my son in January 2018. Through both pregnancies I had high anxiety and he (and the staff) always helped me through it. He answers all my questions and is just a very kind and caring man. I recommend him to anyone I can.

I have been his patient for over 30 years. I had fertility problems, which he corrected with major surgery and follow up s to clear scar tissue. I conceived and he delivered my baby within the next year. He also delivered my second child 4 years afterwards. I value his advice and dont mind waiting my turn, because when he is with you, he listens to your concerns and explains whatever is necessary. I hope he doesn't retire soon!

Dr. Montgomery takes the time to listen to all your concerns. Performed surgery on me with great results. Very caring and professional.

Dr. Montgomery is an excellent Doctor! He scheduled me in quickly and was able to get me in for surgery quickly so I could feel better. I would recommend Dr. Montgomery to anyone looking for an OB.

As long as you dont deal with Denise(the RN) it is a pleasant experience. She picks and chooses who she wants to be nice too. Everyone there is so nice and she sits there and dictates. Those poor girls cant do anything right in her eyes and she's not professional about it at all (Several times she has interrupted them talking to me about insurance and been rude to them) She tells patients how she knows more than the Dr because she has done it longer. More worried about her title than anything.

I highly recommend Dr. Montgomery, he is professional and personable. Dr. Montgomery delivered my twins back in March 2007, they were 9 weeks early and Dr.Montgomery was out of town. Needless to say he was in constant contact with the hospital and actually left his family function to drive back to Houston to deliver my babies. His staff is great and it's never a problem getting an appointment! Highly recommend!

EXCELLENT DOCTOR. Highly recommend! Highly intelligent, decisive, informative, trustworthy - great beside manner. He was present and gave me the time I needed during my appointments. I had 2 surgeries with Dr. Montgomery and felt very cared for; he even called my daughter, personally, after each surgery to provide her with surgical outcome/comfort/assurance. Lastly, Dr. Montgomery's staff is wonderful as well!

Had unusal vaginal Bleeding. Got office appointment fast for evaluation and ultra sound. Had surgery with in that same week. Wonderful staff and excellent very experienced Doctor. So glad I found him to help me! I highly recommend!
