I've been seeing Dr Skender for about a year and a half. My first appt he dx me right away, and we discussed treatment plans. Each visit is quick, he's only in room about 15 minutes, but he is direct and to the point.

Dr. Skender was a breath of fresh air for me. He knows his stuff, is very kind, and always listens to my concerns. He knows that I try to use exercise over medications (I do take some medications) and he understands. He even sent me links to exercises and you tube videos for stretching.

After seeing Dr. Skender for two years, my patience is done. He sees a high volume of patients, and takes very little time with each one. He is quick to medicate symptoms, when what I really asked for was a whole health approach. His office is disorganized - I have had incorrect billing, missed scheduling appointments, and been refused medication.

Quite impersonal, doesn't review chart ahead of time. I feel like every appointment is exactly the same. He knows his stuff, just doesn't seem like he wants to be there. I don't usually have a long wait time, but I always schedule one of the first appts of the day.

I have a very rare form of arthritis, and after seeing multiple doctors who could not give me a diagnosis, Dr. Skender had my condition diagnosed within about 10 minutes. He's good, he knows his stuff, and he's very helpful in terms of helping me to function as fully as possible with my condition. Yes, it's hard to get in for an appointment quickly. Yes, you'll probably spend a lot of time waiting and be seen later than your scheduled appointment time. It is worth the wait.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Skender?
I agree with other reviewers regarding the wait times and lack of personal attention at Dr. Skender's office. It is typical to wait a minimum of 40 minutes for an appointment with no explanation or apology. After being taken back to a room to talk to a nurse for ~2 minutes, expect another 30 min wait to see the doctor. When he finally arrives, you feel very rushed and like he doesn't really want to be there. Both Dr. Skender + his staff do not review your records before talking to you.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Skender?
After 4 years, I am concerned that Dr. Skender does not pay critical attention to my health care. He is disinterested, impatient, and since he is always late he is always in a hurry to get me through the door. I asked him to explain something to me one time and his response was "It's complicated". I replied, "Try me". I am not an idiot and I don't like being treated like one.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Skender?
I have seen him for over ten years and he still doesn't know what medications I take prescribed by him. He always runs late for your appointment, spends about two minutes in the room and then leaves. He will ask three or four questions and you answer them only to have to repeat the answers because he doesn't listen to the answer. RA is serious and I don't feel confident having him treat not only my RA but how he treats me as a patient. Very dismissive.

If you're a patient who expects your physician to care, and has even 20% of awareness of who you are & what meds you take, I'd pass on Skender. I've seen him over a decade now, and some things never change: he has ALWAYS been late to every appointment, usually between 20-45 minutes is common; he NEVER knows my meds, and usually asks if I'm tolerating 'this or that' med... which I haven't been on for 7-8 years now; and after being 20-40 mins late, he'll leave after 3 mins. Yeah, Yer Fired!!

I was referred to 3 other Drs. before being sent to Dr. Skender. Finally, he went over by labs, listened to my concerns then ordered more test. During my follow-up appointments, he went over the findings and a treatment plan developed. He doesn't appear rushed for time and listens to me. I have Fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid Arthritis, I accept these are permanent conditions, but with Dr. Skenders help I function more rather than less.
