Very thorough
I see him for med injections for migraines and he’s very thorough and discusses what and why he does things. In this era of doctors treating patients as cattle and being motivated just to make money, I find him refreshing. He doesn’t push meds. He suggested I talk to my migraine neurologist about lowering my migraine daily med and possibly lengthening time in between when I get injections. My neurologist said she wants me to not change things and he was fine with that. I see him in Yorktown and his staff is professional and helpful.

Excellent in every way!
I have been seeing Dr V for almost 16 years now and I have to say he is one of the best, thorough, and thoughtful doctors I have ever been to. Unfortunately, I have had a variety of neurological maladies over the years and this practice has been there for me through it all. I see the Dr. regularly and love working with his staff who have been pretty helpful - especially in this age when these practice doctors join these groups that are so busy that you feel ignored.

Won’t see you without secondary insurance
Called the office to make an appointment and was told Dr Velickovic will not even see you unless you have secondary insurance. Really? That’s a thing now?? I need full medical insurance and secondary insurance to get an appointment? Wow.

Very unhappy with Dr. Velickovic
After seeing the Dr. several times over the past several years and also bringing my daughter there as well, I always had a very high opinion of him and office staff is super nice. All this changed this week when the Dr. called me and cancelled an upcoming appt. and told me that my insurance company was too difficult to work with. My insurance is Empire BC & BS thru my husband's insurance and they do have a tendency to pay slow but they do pay. He said I would have to go elsewhere and that was it. Who does that? Deny a patient care because you are not getting paid as quickly as you would like? I guess its his choice but not very nice to say the least!!! Very disappointed and unhappy.

What visit? Dr. Velickovic actually cancelled 3 (three) much anticipated and necessary appointments for my husband, who has severe swallowing issues due to Alzheimer's, causing chocking issues requiring the Heimlich Maneuver. Each cancellation was done within 1 day of the visit and today's visit was cancelled because of the rain - really? He doesn't take his oath seriously and can't seem to understand the importance for his patients to be seen within a fair time frame, without being cancelled at will!! He lacks professionalism and empathy. Who would want that in a doctor!!

I visited this doctor about 2 months ago and he prescribed me a medications without any referral. 4 days before my medications ended I had a call from my pharmacy that medication is out of stock and I have to call the doctor and ask him to send new prescription to a Big-Name pharmacy (like Walgreens or Rite Aid). I sent email on the Mount Sinai website to the doctor, I called the doctor's office many times for 2 days, spoke to front desk and asked to expedite the issue. I asked for help of the supervisor but was told that I can't talk to the supervisor. I asked to explain the doctor that I have 4 days supply only. I have Parkinson's and can't live without my medication even 3 hours (I take Stalevo 6 times a day). Nobody returned my call. No doctor, not his assistant. For these 4 days I had a nervous breakdown. I had to call another doctor who helped me. I would give Dr. Velickovick and his staff -1 for ignorance and none-professional manners. I will NOT recommend this doctor.
