no regard for the feelings of the patient
My daughter was switched to Dr. Calayag when her doctor retired. She has a history of fibroids, and when she went in for her annual exam she requested a referral for an ultrasound. The doctor didn’t get back to her for two weeks, and when a virtual visit was scheduled (my daughter had to leave work to attend) Dr. Calayag never showed up. Hours later she called and said the fibroids had grown and wanted to do an MRI to be sure they weren’t a carcinoma. Frightened, my daughter had the MRI and was told the doctor was going to be out of the office for a week. My daughter requested the report be sent to her internist (which they still haven’t done) and later a message appeared on the portal that the fibroids are stable and they will repeat in 6 months. Today she asked for the report to be generated onto the portal but they told her it could be a while. Unacceptable patient care!

Switched to another OBGYN
After various dismissive and unnecessarily rude comments about my life choices, I decided to switch to another provider. I get the sense that she's either deeply conservative or just lost her empathy some time during her career.

In August 2020, I made an appointment with Dr. Calayag for mid-December because I know getting a December appointment on short notice is difficult. I wasn’t too upset when she rescheduled me the first time, but today when she cancelled the rescheduled appointment, the only reschedule option I was given was for January 2021. The way my insurance works, I would never be able to return to a December appointment unless I skipped an entire year. I won’t be returning to Dr. Calayag.

I believe I am a pretty easy person to get along with and pride myself in being very understanding. However, I had the misfortune of having Dr. Calayag as the Westmed doctor on staff during part of my induction, which was deemed urgent due to low amniotic fluid by my MFM whom I trusted explicitly. I had a horrible experience that ended in tears multiple times, after which the nurses who overheard or saw (who were wonderful, for the record) apologized profusely. Upon first meeting Dr. Calayag, she walked in without even introducing herself or looking me in the eyes, sat down on my bed and reached into my crotch to do a cervical check. Her hand was fully inside me before my shock subsided long enough to ask "are you Dr. Calayag?" and she responsed back that she in fact was. The rest of the experience was similarly awful. Although without a doubt a very knowledgable practicioner, I could not recommend her to anyone due to a horrible demeanor and bedside manner.

horrible experience with calayag and I tolerated it for too long due to her lovely nurse Lorraine . I switched doctors very late into my pregnancy because I could Not tolerate the attitude and dismissive comments I received. she made horrible comments like“oh you’re 25, you’re just a baby having a baby”. She made me take multiple glucose testing even tho I passed all 3 and always made comments about my weight, ALWAYS. She always rushed through appointments and I always left feeling less than

I love Dr. Calayag in many ways. She is a great doctor. She helped me with a late in life pregnancy and didn't miss a detail. I do wish she were less image conscious (and less transfer of that to her patients) and a tad more connecting with me as her patient, particularly in the joy of pregnancy. However, I trust her completely with my medical care.

I transferred to Dr. Calayag when I was 3 months pregnant and it was the best decision I ever made. Between her and her amazing assistant Lorraine, I couldn't have been in better hands. I felt taken care of my entire pregnancy. I knew I was having a C-section and couldn't have felt more comfortable with Dr. Calayag as my surgeon. Thank you for all the TLC and the smallest scar!

Dr Calayag and I have a long standing Dr/Patient relationship. I trust her with all my “lady” health needs. She’s honest, personable and most importantly makes sure that my health needs are always met. My concerns are taken seriously and she goes the extra mile to ensure that any issues found that have a potential to cause problems are addressed with the proper treatment.

Simply put: Dr. Calayag is not a girls' girl. I've seen her several times and she's never been respectful to me as a woman or patient. I'm normally and average-sized woman, but have gained weight since I became pregnant five months ago. She made me feel bad about my weight gain (which isn't dramatic) and laughed about some of my dietary choices (which were reasonable). She told me I should exclusively eat eggwhites and vegetables for the remainder of my pregnancy as she walked out the door.
