Spinal fusion
Dr. Maurer did an L5-S1 fusion on me in 2005. I went into surgery being almost unable to walk without pain & was up the night of surgery & out of pain. I did & have & always will, call him “God” & I love him for helping me when no other surgeon would. God Bless him.

close call 2019
much error in the surgery . no follow ups and refused vital information to another professional which is beyond the pale. Damage was pretty awlful but I was lucky to have another doctor take care of the situation. Pleased he no longer has his practice.

My surgery on 06/22/2022 at Unity Hospital
I am so thankful for Dr Maurer performing the spinal stenosis surgery on me. It was a wonderful experience to have him help me with my situation and correct it. My L4 and L5 were causing pressure on my nerve causing me discomfort and pain. Dr Maurer was very insightful and he explained everything with patiences and helping me and my wife understand what was going on with my spine and what he was going to do to elevate the pain and correct my spine. He was very friendly and thoughtful before the surgery explaining again what he would be doing. The surgery went smoothly and afterward explained to us that my prognosis look very good for a normal active lifestyle that I had. Thank you Dr Maurer. God blessed you with this gift and you have used it to help others.

There is no one better than Dr. Paul Mauer. This Dr. is the most caring person I have met. Besides being the best surgeon, he truly cares. He repaired my back, which was in very bad shape. I was in horrible pain before this surgery. He also has a wonderful staff. If you are looking for a neurosurgeon, don't look any further than this Dr. I would highly recommend him.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Maurer after he clipped a ruptured aneurysm in my head. I was eight months pregnant when this happened. My daughter is now 17 years old and graduating from high school in June. I am so happy he saved my life and I have had all this time with my family.

I have had spinal issues for 20 years. Did the usual and told by other surgeons I had spinal stenosis. Dis PT, injections, chiropractic and acupuncturist but have osteophytes all down my spine. Have had both knee replacements and right hIp replacement. Anyway had a MRI and we met with Dr. Mauer and he was so confident and such awesome bedside manner. He explained and said he had good new and better news. First there were no tumors or cancer. Then he could fix what was wrong. He recommended a lumbar Laminectomy and he could assist. That was Oct 1, 2020 and surgery was Nov 9, 2020. As he suspected the osteophytes had been choking off my spinal canal. He said with everything that could have gone wrong none did! He is a extremely humble yet extraordinary talented neurosurgeon! He has given me hope and I am healing wonderfully and now we will see what is going on in my cervical area of my neck. His hospital and office staff are awesome and Jacob his PA is also, very excellent!

Dr. Maurer is an amazing, compassionate and professional neurosurgeon. He is skilled and experienced beyond comparison. The minute that I met him, I knew that my surgery would be successful and I trusted him and was not worried. He is humble and kind and listens to his patients. He explains everything clearly and does not rush. He literally saved my life last week. He performed an urgent surgery on my neck to release my spinal cord compression and just one week later I am on the mend and my fingers are working again. The surgery was successful and the recovery was not as difficult as I imagined. Every step of the way, I have received the best care from Dr. Maurer and his staff. I will add that this is during the Covid crisis and I know that his is putting his own life at risk to see urgent case patients, perform surgeries and save lives. I am forever grateful and honored to have him as my doctor. I would highly recommend this doctor. He is the best in the land.

Dr. Paul Maurer is a phenomenal person and neurosurgeon who is more than outstanding in his surgical skills, surgical outcomes, and follow-up care. He did a wonderful successful craniotomy on a large complex brain tumor in a difficult to reach skull base region where he removed ALL of the tumor and at the same time left me with no deficits or problems neurologically or physically, and I have been enjoying life for many years and am alive thanks to Dr. Maurer!
