I had a ganglion cyst removal on my left index finger. l now have a mallet finger, joint restriction, discomfort and pain. When my friend, a foot surgeon, was helping me with the first dressing change after surgery, he noted that the tendon had been cut and not reattached. He also asked me why was a z-plasty done for that kind of surgery. I asked Dr. F why, and he said he always did it that way. But he did not use that kind of incision on my right index finger for ganglion cyst removal 10 years ago on right finger, which was perfectly done. He also said that I must have torn the tendon post surgery (an insulting and offensive technique to deal with bad outcome). I saw another surgeon for extreme pain (while on vacation 2 mo. later) and that surgeon asked me why was that surgery done. I told him it was for ganglion cyst removal, and his question continued, "yes, but why was THIS surgery done?" He said to begin PT asap. This surgery left me with a painful, deformed, and stiff finger.

Dr. Fankhauser has been our family orthopedist for over 20 years. He has successfully performed knee replacement surgeries on 2 generations, improving the quality and pain as well as surgery to repair a broken leg and ankle. I highly recommend Dr. Fankhauser based on the quality of care he and his staff have provided for myself and family members.
