Dr. Patching and his staff were very helpful in explaining the operation and in making the arrangements for the surgery. The results are amazing and had a quick recovery. Surgery was performed at West Coast Joint and Spine in El Dorado Hills, where they too were super helpful.

Dr. Patching helped me identify the issues i was having, which necessitated a gallbladder removal. Dr. Patching answered all my questions and after a month, i feel so much better and have my life back! I’d recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled, patient and experienced surgeon.

When I had weight loss surgery I was thrilled with the results. I lost 50 pounds to start and shared my story with my younger sister. She is quite heave and diabetic. She wanted no part of it. Today, three years later I am still doing great, however my younger sister had a stroke and is still in the hospital! She is learning to walk again and cannot even hold a spoon. I somehow think if she was not so heavy this may have been avoided. Thank you Dr. Patching for giving me a new lease on life. All I can do is pray for my sister.

If you are thinking of having weight loss surgery, take the first step and schedule a consultation. In hindsight, I should have done it years ago. More than a decade spent feeling puffy, tired, and resigned to my fate; not a good feeling when you have small and active children. My experience has been very smooth with Dr Patching, no complaints. I am 12 weeks post-op and have increased energy and mobility; high blood pressure and overall inflammation are 99% better. Weight loss surgery is only a tool, you have to be patient and trust the process.

I was nervous getting started in my Bariactric journey. From the very beginning, Dr. Patching made me feel safe and throughout the journey it was amazing having his support and knowledge to ease my nerves. The actual surgery was a breeze. Little to no pain the day after and even when waking up from surgery. He truly is the best around and I cannot recommend him enough. Thank you for changing my life Dr Patching!!

Dr. Patching is so caring and willing to go over all of your concerns. He is also very involved with the weight loss journey before and after surgery. He has taken good care of me, and I am just so grateful for him. I travel 3 hours just to see him and 3 hours back home. He is worth the travel!

I was having heartburn, acid reflux and occasional abdominal pain. An ultrasound revealed gall stones. I was referred to Dr. Patching. I was nervous about the surgery, but I am 8 days post op and couldn't be happier with the results! The robotic laparoscopic surgery to remove my gall bladder was a breeze! The pain blockers in the back (not the spine) were pain free and aided in managing internal pain. I've had no issues since surgery. Pain was managed without opioids and incisions are healing well. It was outpatient, so I was home a couple of hours after surgery. Follow all instructions in terms of food, medication, and activity. I must give credit to Dr. Patching's skill, in addition to his friendly manner, along with staff Becky and Nadia. Dr. Patching knew just what to do to make the surgery as easy as possible and staff handled the paperwork and logistics. Overall an easy, pleasant experience. I highly recommend Dr. Patching!

This was my 4th time and 3rd Dr I saw when I was trying to get the sleeve. The other drs and vibe did not feel right. So I did my research and found Dr patching. And so very happy I did. I started seeing him in August of 2022 and was sleeved in June of 23. The staff is amazing. My surgery went so awesome. I'm only a month out and following the plan and I feel soooooo much better already. He is your doctor for life. And he really cares to make sure you are as safe as possible to have a successful surgery. He continues to follow up with you I have had zero complications and can't wait to see the new me.

The doctor and staff really work with you on achieving your successes. I have kept my weight off and continue to lose after 4 years.

Dr. Steven Patching is a skilled and highly experienced surgeon. After my first hiatal hernia surgery failed, Dr. Patching undertook the resection. He gave me excellent information on the difficulties and limitations of resection surgery and what to expect, including the possibility of inability to do the resection. During the surgery, he encountered a unanticipated problem which he had not seen in hundreds of such operations. He was able to accurately interpret it and take corrective action, requiring two additional hours of operation prior to a complete fundoplication wrap. This totaled four and a half hours of surgery. Without this extensive background, he would not have been able to make a successful resection. His followup on the day of surgery and in the succeeding weeks enabled me to observe the behavioral and dietary changes to protect the new fundoplication wrap. I am immensely grateful to Dr. Patching for undertaking this difficult surgery and repairing my hiatal hernia.

I wasn’t really sure about getting bariatric surgery. Once I saw Dr. Patching, I felt absolutely confident in his opinion that this was the right surgery for me. He doesn’t do surgery on anyone who comes in and wants it. He is serious about your success. I’m in the medical field and he has a stellar reputation amongst other physicians who I have contact with. The inflammation in my body is completely gone, along with my brain fog and all of the pain I had due to the excess weight and inflammation in my joints. This surgery isn’t just for people who over eat, because I don’t. I have PCOS with insulin resistance and also an autoimmune response to many foods. I can’t take Metformin or other drugs to help with it. My life has improved drastically and I have Dr. Patching to thank for this. He is with you for life afterwards. Why would he put his reputation on the line? He wants you to succeed.

The best decision of my life! I underwent VSG in 2017 and it gave me the chance to live the life I have always wanted. Dr. Patching does not just perform surgery, he sets you up for success. He monitors you before the surgery to make sure you develop the necessary habits to be successful and then continues to monitor you for life. I've never heard of another surgeon continuing to be that involved. If you run into to difficulty he and his staff are always available to help. I would 100% recommend that anyone thinking of bariatric surgery see Dr. Patching. He changed my life!

Dr. Patching is a fantastic surgeon and human being. He really shows how he cares about you and your whole health. He carefully explained the options, the potential outcomes and listened to all my questions. He even drew me pictures so I could better understand the procedures. I highly recommend him. When my husgand need a surgeon to remove his gallbladder, Dr. Patching was the one for us!

Dr. Patching was thorough and kind. He explained everything to me. He has a true understanding of what obesity is and how to get on track…get your life back! I sure did! The surgery was a success and because of his plan before and after surgery…I am a success. I am proud of my efforts. It’s been 5 years now..no regrets and still look forward to every day. No more high blood pressure, no more high glucose, no high cholesterol, no sleep apnea…and my knees and back don’t hurt anymore. All around the best decision next to my sweet husband I have ever made!!!

I came to Dr. Patching about 3 years ago because I had gained lots of weight, was exhausted and developed sleep apnea due to thyroid cancer. I am a little over 2 years out having the gastric sleeve that Dr. Patching performed. Dr. Patching is very straight forward and wants you to succeed. I am loving my life now! I no longer have sleep apnea and have lots of energy.

I have experienced two surgeries with Dr. Patching. First was Bariatric surgery 2.5 years ago. Most recently Gallbladder surgery 2 months ago. Prior to the Bariatric surgery I was on a downward spiral with my health. I was a Type 2 Diabetic, had high blood pressure and took over 8 different medications daily. I am no longer diabetic and no longer suffer from high blood pressure. I have lost over 100 pounds. Dr. Patching is an excellent surgeon who gives clear and precise instructions. He has been highly professional and truly cares about my health and wellbeing as I am sure he does all of his patients. I did a lot of research before seeing Dr. Patching. He came highly recommend by those who knew him including other physicians. His staff are very professional and kind. I had the Bariatric surgery at age 70 and was concerned because of my age. I now believe I will live a longer life because of the surgery, his continued care and guidance. I'm very thankful for him.

I am one year post op and I couldn't say anything negative about Dr. patching he cares so much about the well being of each of his patients and he cares about their success. If he is hard on you it's because he wants you to succeed, he makes each of his patients accountable for each step of this process. I couldn't have asked for a better provider! Excellent bed side manner and would recommend him to anyone. If you just want a new stomach go to someone else, if you want a life changing experience and someone to have your back and help you, Dr Patching is your guy.

He raised his voice at me when I asked him a question he didn’t now the answer to. He’s very arrogant and narcissistic. Have seen him 5 times over the 6 months and my medical issue has worsened and his pocket book has grown. I would not recommend him if you have an actual complicated medical issue that you want resolved. He’s only in it for the money. Maybe see him if you want to lose weight, those surgeries are a cash cow... pun intended.
