He's not going to help you
I was referred to him for pain that had not resolved several months after an injury. He apparently looked at my X-ray before he came into the room. He didn't ask me any questions. He told me to take ibuprofen, lots of it. He brushed off any question I asked. It was clear to me that he felt I was a waste of his time.

Should have gone with my gut feelings
After seeing the poor reviews, I should have canceled my appointment and found a different orthopedic doctor. I was just an xray to him.

Unable to get my concerns addressed
I had an appointment with Dr. Sauber to find an answer how to proceed with 2 hip and one knee replacement. He had been recommended to have expertise in complex situations like mine. I never got beyond the intake nurse who informed me that Dr. Sauber would only deal with one joint at a time. Of course I did not expect him to operate on all three joints at the same time, rather to help me discern where to begin. I was not here for a second opinion for one joint (I had 2), but for someone who had the ability to see the connection of my injuries and address them as they relate to each other. If Dr. Sauber would have been able to advise me, he needs to make sure his intake nurse is instructed accordingly. After an unpleasant interaction with the nurse, and without getting any further with what I had come for, I simply cancelled my appointment. I am still trying to find the silver lining in this event, as I had waited for a while for the appointment and am in significant pain.

I made an appointment with Dr. Sauber for a total knee replacement. He came highly recommended, but to my disappointment I only saw him for the initial consultation and again 1 week before the surgery. Between those 2 visits, I was seen by his PA. Until a week before my surgery, I thought Dr. Sauber would be doing my knee operation, but found out 1 week before the surgery it was being done by a fifth-year student. I've since have had problems with my knee, still having some pain and been giving out on me when walking occasionally. In my one follow up appointment 3 months after my physical therapy was over, I thought I was meeting with Dr. Sauber, but once again was seen br the PA. . When he asked me if I was satisfied, I told him there was still a lot of pain, so no, I was not satisfied. He told me everything looked fine and never followed up with me after that. I would not recommend them for knee surgery.

I had complications prior to surgery that required attention. When I saw the doctor in pre op, rather than reassure me, I was chastised for having asked too many questions of the staff. That was unnerving just before surgery. I never saw the doctor after surgery - he called my 18 yr old daughter who gave me limited info about how the surgery went. After one year, I still have a lot of pain and dysfunction - the knee cap has a lot of arthritis.

I took time out of my busy schedule to make an apt with Dr Sauber as he was highly recommended however he obviously was too busy to see me to give his recommendations as I was seen by his PA. I assumed when I made the apt I would be seeing him but that was not the case. I would not recommend him to him to my family or friends.

I had a hip replacement by Dr Sauber 4 weeks ago and I couldn’t be happier. I was walking without any support 2 weeks after surgery. I had virtually NO swelling or bruising and minimal pain. He was very thorough explaining the procedure. He, his nurse Bernice, his PA Anthony and his team were exceptional in preparing me for what to expect before, during and after my surgery. They are top notch in my book. I felt very cared for. I highly recommend him. And I have 2 friends that had the same experience with Dr Sauber.

Searched for a doctor who had it all- great bedside manner, thorough in his knowledge, and thorough in his skill... Dr. Sauber exhibits all of these qualities and much more. He did a full hip replacement on me and I would not go to any other orthopedic! Thank you Dr Sauber!

Referred to by an orthopedic Hip surgeon who thought he could do a good job at Revision Surgery.Told me on first visit he didn’t believe it was my hip and had me take a cortezone injection in the tendon i did not help told him on the second visit and he pulls up the xrays and shows me the problem says he can fix it switches from the first visit now it is my hip and needs revision surgery With this evaluation has his nurse set up an operation . He leaves the building then tells her to tell me I can’t have any pain meds narcotics for 2 weeks before and will test again day of surgery and will cancel if any trace. I have been to pain management for 11 years due to a failed back operation and He thinks he can make me suffer to have him operate. What an arrogant jerk who dosent care if your in pain.He dosent respect other Drs who referred patients to him but then realizes they were correct in their diagnosis There are plenty of great surgeons who Want to relieve pain and suffering RunAway

I had a total knee replacement on March 1. Dr. Sauber is an excellent orthopedic surgeon. He takes the time to explain thoroughly what he will do. He has a great bedside manner. My recovery is going well but you have to do the physical therapy. I highly recommend him!

I received a left anterior hip replacement from Dr Sauber and I am very happy with the outcome. My first appointment with Dr Sauber, he spent about an hour with me talking over all my options until I felt confident in my decision to have my procedure. I feel that he took the time and cared about treating me. He performed the surgery and visited my room soon after to make sure I was doing good. I am having a speedy, successful recovery. I am very happy with my decision to use Dr Sauber.
