My patient experience with Dr. Groff was terrible. I had been experiencing chronic pain and crepitus in my shoulders. Dr. Groff was recommended by one of my other providers. I drove over 2 hrs. to meet with Dr. Groff and after 5 minutes of explaining my condition and symptoms, he did nothing but minimize and dismiss them. Toward the end of my appointment (which was very brief) he said that crepitus and pain was “normal” in a 30 year old, ordered no tests and made me feel completely belittled and unheard. I ended up meeting with a different orthopedic a couple weeks later who was awesome. He ordered adequate tests and found out I was suffering from torn muscles and ligaments. I do not recommend Dr. Groff and think he has poor character.

Visited him after being rejected by other surgeons because of my weight. He encouraged me to lose the weight and had me see the hospital group that prepares you for surgery. I lost the weight and had the surgery. In one weeks time I was walking independently using only a cane.Driving the following week and the knee is doing terrific. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to be seen for surgery of the knee as he cares about his patients and is an excellent surgeon. He is the best!
