She went on to medical school at Texas Tech University Health Science Center where she earned her MD. Dr. Garza has worked on several impressive research projects: Primary Researcher Adaptation of a Diagnostic Screening Tool to Assess Sexual Health Concerns Among Immigrant and Refugee WOMEN Assistant Researcher Qualification of presacral nerve fibers and its implication with future presacral neurosysis for patients with dysmenorrhea In June 2016, Dr. Garza completed a two year fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (FMIGS) and Chronic Pelvic Pain at St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center. This surgical training, largely focused on laparoscopic surgery, including DaVinci robotic surgery, afforded her the opportunity to perform more advanced surgery through a minimally invasive approach allowing women to have shorter hospital stays, faster healing times, and return to their regular daily lives faster. Additionally during this time, she also focused on learning and understanding the many different aspects of pelvic pain and ways treat it.
