Dr. Gideon Blumstein, MD

I am a new patient to Marina Spine Center; I didn’t have a referral but rather researched and sought out their practice. I drove from San Diego to have my first experience with Cedars-Sinai. Dr. Gideon Blumstein is the most focused doctor I have ever had the privilege of being a patient of. He is honest, guides the meeting, explains the pathology and etiology clearly using the illustrative MRI findings. Having been a high-level competitive figure skater, my balance and confidence in movement is my instrument. Like any patient I long to get back to what I love as that is happiness. Dr. Blumstein gave me something; the possibility of artificial disc replacement. Though I have some time to go (some other peripheral testing needed) I left Los Angeles with Hope that I found a great surgeon who cares. Thank you Dr. Blumstein!

I had debilitating spinal joint issues from sports injury for one year. Dr. Blumstein ordered appropriate tests and provided accurate diagnosis. Because of this accurate diagnosis, I'm finally on appropriate treatment plans. I'm improving!! He is competent professional, and willing to help. Prior to visiting Dr. Blumstein, I went from clinic to clinic to figure out the problems though it was unsuccessful. I cannot thank Dr.Blumstein enough for his work!

When Dr Gideon walked into the room he looked so young. It did not take long to realize his gift. I noticed that listening was one of his gifts. All along while listening he was starting his assessment. He spent about 45 min with my husband and I listening and answering our questions. He never cut us off, he made sure he answered all of our questions. He requested a few more tests to be sure what he was assessing was accurate. He recommended 8 weeks of PT to see if it would resolve the pain. After 8 weeks PT we met again and discussed how he could help me. I had no stress going into the surgery due to the confidence I had built in him. He was correct I had a decompression and laminectomy. The recovery was exactly as he stated it would be. I have no pain, no gait issue and was more than happy with the care the amazing nurses provided. I am very happy that I had the surgery and would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone.

Let this review convince you to see Dr. Blumstein without hesitation. I was not getting the help or concern required from the doctor I had before coming to Dr. Blumstein. I was in so much nerve pain, like electrical shock; day after day, both arms. Hands numb and hurt. Neck, back, shoulders, legs hurt; felt like needles were in my feet. God answered my prayer, directed my steps to Dr. Gideon Blumstein. I am not rich or a celebrity, however, I got star treatment the first meeting up to and going into surgery and post-surgery. Dr. Blumstein genuinely cared, is highly skilled, knowledgeable, easy to talk with. Diagnosis: He breaks it down. You understand entirely what's needed, surgery if necessary, and why. He and the staff well prepared me and my family for the expectations, possibilities, care, and much more. I 'knew' I was in good hands! Now, no intense pain, I walk, use my arms and hands. Dr. Blumstein is the orthopedic surgeon everyone on this earth hopes for; highly recommend him.

Last summer, my back went out. I saw 4 surgeons who provided me with no help. I was frustrated with no hope in sight. I met with Dr. Gideon Blumstein.Dr. Blumstein completed a physical examination. He identified the cause of my back pain which was a substantial herniation. Dr. Blumstein felt the way to remedy the problem was through surgery. The surgery had been completed and the pain relief was immediate. Dr. Blumstein provided me with a postop plan, which included videos to watch, for my rehabilitation. Dr. Blumstein is head and shoulders above any of the other back surgeons I saw. THIS GUY IS A WINNER! Trust me, I speak from experience. I would never write a positive rating unless I felt that Dr Blumstein had earned it based on merit. If there is anyone out there who is suffering from back pain? Dr. Blumstein is your doctor. Dr. Blumstein cares, is knowledgeable, and takes his time to educate his patients. As far as I’m concerned, Dr. Blumstein IS THE BEST OF THE BEST!!!
