Revision surgery
He’s done a couple of my hernia repairs and yesterday did a gastric bypass revision. Dr.Allison is very kind and down to earth. He’s always listened to my concerns and also given me different options. His staff is very friendly and helpful as well.

PLEASE READ
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS review and avoid this practice at all costs. I am suffering from gallbladder stones and had surgery scheduled for 7/20/23. The weeks prior to the surgery I was back and forth with his office verifying insurance (which I have and covers this surgery). They kept saying they are getting stuck on hold so I would call myself and confirm the number and call them back with the number and name of person to speak with. They finally stopped calling me so assumed they had this resolved. The day before the surgery I am told they are switching me to self-pay since they didn't verify the insurance and that I had to show up in the am with $16000. I called the number again for insurance and provided it to this person. She later called my back saying they verified it but I had 70% coverage and would have to pay 30% (also not true and confirmed by my insurance last night). The negotiated insurance rate for the surgery was $53,000 and I would be on the hook for about $16

So sad
I really like Dr. Allison. He explained things I can understand. I want him to do my surgery (partial gastrectomy & fix my hiatal hernia) The problem is his office personal can't seem to get my insurance issues taken care of. Insurance has called numerous times to Health First in regards to my surgery. And still nothing. Its been 8 months since my initial diagnoses. They completely dropped the ball!! I made appointments with Dr. Allison himself and his office called & canceled. Rescheduled for two weeks later. Went to the office and they canceled my appointment again!! I was already there and they didn't offer to reschedule. So do you think I can trust this office?? What should I do???

Wonderful surgeon and staff. I highly recommend Dr. Allison's exceptional knowledge and expertise to all. He made it possible for me to return to normal lifestyle, for the 1st time in many years able to fly without an "extender", garden, and ride a bike.

I had emergency surgery for perforated colon in 2013; Dr. Allison was the attending surgeon. I had a follow up surgery to reverse a procedure that was only necessary on a temporary basis. In March 2016 I returned to Dr. Allison to repair a post surgical hernia that occurred as a result of the 2013 surgery. I had a full frontal mesh inserted and was hospitalized for three or four days. All in all, I felt pleased with Dr. Allison's care. He has good "people" skills , good surgical skills, and seems to be a very good person as well. I have recommended many people to Dr. Allison and would not hesitate to seek his help if it were again necessary.
